Dr Succar's Hairy Claims
Attention all hairy readers!
Dr Succar of the IPL Permanent Hair Removal Centre has an amazing offer for you!
"UNWANTED HAIR? Flush It Out In Minutes Using IPL Intense Pulsed Light Therapy More Advanced Than Laser Pain Free With No Side Effects Never Ever Have To Shave Again... The heating denatures the proteins in the hair and surrounding follicle (this means that they effectively die)... Once the follicle is dead it will NOT REGENERATE - they are gone forever!"
Dr Succar's flyer (available here and here) boasts his patients will "Never Ever Have To Shave Again".
This claim is slightly suspicious, because although laser treatments similar to this are in common use, they don't remove all hair and they aren't always permanent.
Can Dr Succar substantiate the claim that his IPL treatment is much better than competing products? ASA complaint follows!
"I'm writing to complain about a handout for "Dr Succar" / IPL Permanent Hair Removal Centre, which I picked up at the 'Mind Body Spirit' exhibition in London on 26th May.
The handout promotes the advertiser's hair-removal service.

As far as I understand, laser hair-removal therapies of this kind are in common use and their efficacy is supported by clinical evidence.
However, I'd like to challenge whether the phrases "Never Ever Have To Shave Again" and "they are gone forever!" are misleading, because I understand that these therapies reduce, but not eliminate, body hair in the treated areas. I also understand that some people experience complete hair regrowth some time after the treatment.
I can confirm that I have no connections with the advertiser."

I wonder if the writer have tried IPL Hair removal. I could present many examples of treated areas in many many people who have no hair & have not shaved for years since they had the treatment.
ReplyDeleteIPL results depend on the machine it self , the operator , colour of the hair & other factors. Most people will indeed achicve permanant results.
Buty i could see that this writer have written negative comments on almost everything.
