"Colin" the "Vortex Healer"

Do you remember the complaint about Vortex Healing I submitted just yesterday? No?

Well, the details aren't important.

I came across a similar advert today that promises to teach us all how to

"Channel divine energy and consciousness for healing yourself and others...Balance your meridians...Energise your body...Heal at a distance...& much more..."

I shudder to think what "much more" might be, given the impressive Nobel-prize winning achievements detailed elsewhere in the advert. ASA complaint, as usual, follows.

"I write to complain about an advert appearing in "High Spirit" magazine, August issue, p28.

The advert, for "Colin", promotes "Vortex Healing" workshops.

I suspect that the advert may be in breach of two sections of the British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing (CAP) code. I can provide an original copy of the advert by post, if required.

1. (i) On the 11th of August I submitted a complaint about an advert, for the "Vortex Healing Institute", which made similar claims.

(ii) I understand the advert which is the subject of this complaint promotes the services of an affiliate of the organisation, not the organisation itself. In any case, I will not repeat any of the claims from my previous complaint.

2. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1 of the CAP Code, I challenge whether the advertiser can substantiate any of the following claims made about people who complete the promoted "Basic Training":

(i) "You can...Channel diving energy and consciousness, for healing yourself and others..."

(ii) "You can...energise your body"

(iii) "You can...heal at a distance"

3. I confirm that I have no connections with the advertiser. I confirm that I am not involved in legal proceedings with the advertiser."

  1. Vortexhealing is nothing but another scam that tricks people into thinking that they can be healed of anything just by magical powers coming from some mysterious entity of which there are no records anywhere in the world or who belongs to the realm of fantasy. Ask the founder to provide you with any proof, anything that could be tested by a reputable lab and you'll see what kind of response you get. The main business, however, is the never ending string of courses that promise to give you by "transmission" the powers to heal at a distance and all the other nonsense that you've already read about.
I was treated by these Vortex quacks for months but was never able to heal from anything. I even took some of the courses myself, for which you usually have to pay a handsome amount of money and/or travel to some remote location in Europe, the United States or Latin America. Believe me, it's just a scam. If any healing ever happens, it's just because of placebo effect or because the healing was going to happen anyway. Nobody has been able to grow back a limb, strangely enough. As you said, so many Nobel-worthy achievements shouldn't go unnoticed, right?

  2. My wife practises this crazy belief system. Shes been sucked in big time. The 'leader' is a fly man. Actually its quite serious as its destroying our marriage.

To (Anonymous 16 November 2011 22:58), I posted the first comment just above yours, also as Anonymous, back in Sep 2010; I'm pretty sure that, just like me, you're choosing not to disclose your name for fear of embarrassment, retribution, family issues, etc. I'd be glad to hear more about your own experiences (direct or otherwise) with this Cult. How do you manage to keep your marriage afloat? Mine has taken a nosedive because of this bullshit and I wish there was a way to stop these people and expose the leader for what he is, a con artist.

      Thanks!

  3. I came across this on YouTube and watched a video. I got a bad vibe immediately and remembered a favorite cousin who committed suicide after EST- and a friend's hysterical but 'out there' account of the Forum. This seemed to be in that ilk.
What alarms me is that internet research for 5 pages is all articles written by them! My 'forum-rejecting ' friend found this page- and tho I am sorry for those suffering the fall-outs- happy to have found you.
